How to succeed with digital events.

How do you make a digital event successful? Let us share some of our favorite pointers.

1. What is the purpose?

What are your goals with the event – a prominent keynote for a broader audience or perhaps an interactive experience for a smaller group of people? Begin with establishing the purpose of the event. Also, make sure to set a time schedule and plan. Are there any keynote speakers involved? Will one individual manage the entire event, or are there several people alternating? If there are several keynote speakers involved, it might be a good idea to hire a moderator to lead the conversation. Another option is to set up a panel discussion with experts to share their thoughts on a specific topic. Finally, make sure to set a date for the event – always double-check so that it does not collide with another event.

2. Choose a platform that suits your needs

There are several digital platforms on the market, such as Google Hangout, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams. When it is time to choose, you should consider factors such as cost for the service, number of participants, the possibility for the audience to interact and ask questions, the number of keynote speakers, and functions for screen-sharing.

Suppose your goal is to create a digital event out of the ordinary. In that case, the Wizitory platform will help you create virtual 3D events and worlds with interface and interactive functions that focus on the user experience. Read more here>>

3. Market the event

Make a plan for the marketing of the event. What are your target audiences? What should you say? What will the communication look like? What channels should you choose? Another tip is to publish a dedicated event website to register online. This will make marketing easier.

4. Focus on visual content

It is essential to ace the visual experience to succeed with a digital event – otherwise, the participants can quickly lose focus. Create visually stunning material that will boost the presentation. Add images, graphics, diagrams, film, and statistics. Or do what we did for our client University West – create your own metaverse in 3D, where visitors can start exploring your world and partake in interactive activities. 5. Learn your tools – and go!

Before you go through with the event, give yourself time to learn the technology. Schedule a test session to get familiar with both technology and software. Run through the presentation in front of your colleagues and evaluate what went well and what to improve. Then tend to any technical problems that might have occurred. Practice makes perfect.

6. Evaluation and feedback

After the event, make sure to go through the list of the people who had signed up and compare it with those who came. Then, send the participants a thank you note and encourage them to get back with any questions.

For those who missed the event, get in touch and give them the opportunity of watching a video recording of the event.
